Fly By The Seat Of My {Ripped} Pants

....an update/recap

2013 is well underway and let me just tell you it has not started off in the best manner.  I started getting a cold and it has been hanging around.  It started off as a deep achy cough and then into a full fledged cold.  While it is getting better the stupid sinus pressure and congestion just keeps sticking around.  I totally can tell it is MUCH better than my pre sinus surgery days but it is still annoying!

New Year's Day Brian's mom went into the hospital and is still there.  We are hoping she gets better very very soon.  It has been an emotional roller coaster for all of us and we just want to see her get well.

Colton will be having his tonsils out next month.  Poor little guy has such enlarged tonsils they are causing him some issues.  He is having sinus trouble, man I sure hope he doesn't have issues like I do, and it is causing him not to be able to breathe well while he is sleeping.  The doctor says his restlessness and regular waking is probably due to sleep apnea caused by restricted breathing.  His tonsils are so large, when you look in the back of his throat they are ALL you can see.  They are almost touching each other.

As I mentioned in my goals for 2012 recap post I have decided not to make any goals for 2013.  Much of what I was working to accomplish in 2012 has carried over as have many of the goals I have set in the past several years.  They are all things I want to continue and things I want to build on.  With that being said 2013 is going to just be a "fly by the seat of my pants" year.  Where it will lead I don't know!!

Monday morning as I was dropping the kids off at daycare I bent down to give them a hug and RRRRIIIIPPPPP went the seam in my pants! I have been wearing these pants for quite a while.  I refuse to buy new pants until I reach a good size so these have been the only pair that really fit for quite some time and they were worn out!  So much to my dismay I HAD to buy new pants! While I wish I could say the new ones I bought were several sizes smaller I can't...but that is a whole other post entirely.

So as I started off my first full work week of 2013 with a giant hole in my pants I will embrace it.  I will let this year take me where it will and I will come out on the other side all the more better...right?!?!

My name is Sonya and I am married to a wonderful man who is truly my best friend. I am the proud mommy of Lauren and our newest addition Colton! I love to cook, bake, read, scrapbook and I am a photography enthusiast. I also love to be around my large extended family. I have 4 nieces and 5 nephews.

Brian, is my wonderful loving husband. My best friend and the father of my children. He loves being a daddy, boxing, Muay Thai and working out.

Lauren is our 4 year old daughter. She loves her Daddy, running and being outside. She also is a big fan of "neighs" (horses). She amazes me everyday at all the new words that she can say and the new things she is learning. It blows my mind the things that she comes up with. She is such a great kid!

Colton, AKA, Little Man, is our newest addition to the family. He has brought us so much joy. Right now he loves to eat, sleep and is learning to walk. Colton was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 6 weeks old and has been wearing a Pavlik Harness since 7 weeks. He wore the harness full time for 8 weeks and then part time for 6 weeks for a total of 14 weeks. Having hip dysplasia hasn't slowed him down one bit. He can crawl and has recently started walking
