2012 Goal Update

Christmas has come and gone and what a whirlwind this last month has been.  It was nice to take a bit of a break from blogging and be able to concentrate on the reason for the season, spend time with my children and extended family but I am ready to jump back into it and see what 2013 may bring!

Since today is New Year's Eve I took a little bit of time to look back at my Goals for 2012 to see what I have accomplished.  While not every goal was a complete success I did manage to do pretty well this year.

1.} I did a lot of cleaning and organizing this year but it is still not to the point I want it to be at.  We did move our living room downstairs when we had laminate flooring installed in the upstairs living room.  We converted the basement to half playroom/half TV room.  For the most part I like this arrangement.  With the exception of I spend most of my time upstairs and the kids’ toys slowly migrate up there and they don’t really play that much downstairs.  This is really an ongoing project to continue throughout the next year, as the seasons change and the kids have birthdays and Christmas.  We are so blessed by our families that we are constantly cleaning out and donating clothes and toys!  I did accomplish the bedrooms and the garage and am already ready to start this process over!  This year we will be redecorating our bedroom and possibly the kitchen.
The kitchen table did not stay cleaned off as I had hoped…putting this back on the list for 2013.  It seems to be the catch all area of the house and it drives me bonkers because we eat at the table every single night.  The junk just gets pushed to the edge we don’t use and this is no longer acceptable to me!

2.}  I started several devotionals this year and plan on continuing those and read several books.  I am going to do a separate post on this so I can have a list of all the books I read in 2012 in one place.  I also wrote 220 blog posts in 2012 which is more than the 159 in 2011.
3.} This is one goal we did not meet this year and I am pretty bummed about it.  We did make great strides but had several things come up in which we had to dip into our savings and use extra income coming in to replenish that and pay for those unexpected expenses.  I am happy to say we did not have to put anything on a credit card though!

4.}  I did not reach my goal weight but I came very close.  I want to be healthy and have changed my goal more to be in line with living healthy.  Instead of focusing on a number  on the scale I want to focus on my daily behaviors.  More on that to come.
5.} We did not attend a marriage conference this year.  All the ones in our area were on weekends where we already had something planned or I didn’t find out about them until the last minute and one of us or both were scheduled to work.  However we are finding new ways all the time to enrich our marriage and work on us as a couple and not as “just” parents.

I haven't decided whether or not to set goals for 2013.  There are so many things I want to continuing working on I don't think I need to write them all down again.  I think I am going to fly by the seat of my pants this year and see what 2013 brings my way!

You accomplished a lot this year! I haven't really thought about any for myself this year. I really don't think they will change from last year. I blogged a lot less this year, but for all summer I couldn't write about what was going on and then I've been too busy to write since then. Maybe there will be more in 2013.

My name is Sonya and I am married to a wonderful man who is truly my best friend. I am the proud mommy of Lauren and our newest addition Colton! I love to cook, bake, read, scrapbook and I am a photography enthusiast. I also love to be around my large extended family. I have 4 nieces and 5 nephews.

Brian, is my wonderful loving husband. My best friend and the father of my children. He loves being a daddy, boxing, Muay Thai and working out.

Lauren is our 4 year old daughter. She loves her Daddy, running and being outside. She also is a big fan of "neighs" (horses). She amazes me everyday at all the new words that she can say and the new things she is learning. It blows my mind the things that she comes up with. She is such a great kid!

Colton, AKA, Little Man, is our newest addition to the family. He has brought us so much joy. Right now he loves to eat, sleep and is learning to walk. Colton was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 6 weeks old and has been wearing a Pavlik Harness since 7 weeks. He wore the harness full time for 8 weeks and then part time for 6 weeks for a total of 14 weeks. Having hip dysplasia hasn't slowed him down one bit. He can crawl and has recently started walking
