Funfetti Cake Mix Puppy Chow

Sometimes when life gets hectic and takes over I forget to blog.  It isn't for lack of stuff to post about...obviously since this is another recipe from Colton's birthday party that I have had in draft form and have yet to post.  I came accross it the other day and thought I had better get this posted.  Man looking at this makes me want to go to the store and whip up a batch!


Funfetti Cake Batter Puppy Chow

Yield: Makes 12 cups

 

Ingredients

• 2 packages {12 ounces each} white chocolate chips
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 1 box funfetti cake mix {not prepared}
• 5 tablespoons colored sprinkles
• 1 box {about 12 cups} rice chex cereal

Directions

1. In a microwave safe bowl melt the white chocolate by microwaving it in 30 second intervals mixing in-between each interval until smooth and runny.
2. In a bowl, combine cake mix, powdered sugar, and sprinkles and stir to combine. Set aside.
3. Pour the cereal into a large bowl, drizzle the chocolate all over and using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to gently toss the cereal to coat each piece.
4. Once you have all the chocolate combined with the cereal and the cereal is completely coated, pour the cake mix/sugar mixture on top and gently toss again with the spoon to coat each piece.
5. Pour out onto wax paper and spread into an even layer to cool completely then store in a ziplock bag or airtight container.

Beware this stuff is addicting.  I can’t tell you how many people I saw getting seconds and sneaking pieces out of the bowl at the party!!
