Sometimes when life gets hectic and takes over I forget to blog. It isn't for lack of stuff to post about...obviously since this is another recipe from Colton's birthday party that I have had in draft form and have yet to post. I came accross it the other day and thought I had better get this posted. Man looking at this makes me want to go to the store and whip up a batch!
Funfetti Cake Batter Puppy Chow
adapted from Adventures in Food
Yield: Makes 12 cups
Ingredients
- 2 packages {12 ounces each} white chocolate chips
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 box funfetti cake mix {not prepared}
- 5 tablespoons colored sprinkles
- 1 box {about 12 cups} rice chex cereal
- In a microwave safe bowl melt the white chocolate by microwaving it in 30 second intervals mixing in-between each interval until smooth and runny.
- In a bowl, combine cake mix, powdered sugar, and sprinkles and stir to combine. Set aside.
- Pour the cereal into a large bowl, drizzle the chocolate all over and using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to gently toss the cereal to coat each piece.
- Once you have all the chocolate combined with the cereal and the cereal is completely coated, pour the cake mix/sugar mixture on top and gently toss again with the spoon to coat each piece.
- Pour out onto wax paper and spread into an even layer to cool completely then store in a ziplock bag or airtight container.
