We formed Colton’s very own garage band for the set up of the party. Our house can’t hold a ton of people so we moved it semi outside. It rained all morning and was nice and cool until about an hour before the party was supposed to start. At that point the sun came out and warmed up A LOT! It ended up being super hot.

I made a few things to go along with the cake. I made Cookie’s and Cream Popcorn which has been dubbed by Lauren as Dirty Popcorn. It was fantastic. Cake Batter Puppy Chow, Spicy Pretzels and a vegetable tray with Dill Dip. I will be sharing all these recipes later on in the week. For the kids I also had Kool-Aid packs, Rock Candy and Pop Rocks.

My mom made Colton’s Cake. She did such a fantastic job making it look like a drum.

She had a layer left over so she let Lauren help her decorate it and decide what should be on it. She decided a tractor was what Colton liked second to his drums so this is what they came up with. Those are two talented girls!

I also had some favors for the kids. We had inflatable instruments, bubbles, glasses and whistles.

Colton wanted to show off his stuff so we brought his drums outside. He LOVED putting on a show for everyone.

He was hamming it up and couldn’t get enough.

Lauren embracing her inner rock star with her glasses and side pony!

Time to blow out the candles. This was Colton’s face the entire time we were singing Happy Birthday.

Notice he is holding a set of drum sticks while blowing out the candles.

And let’s go ahead and take a bite out of the cake.

We are so blessed to have such awesome family and friends who shower our children with love.

Colton got lots of awesome presents including this microphone that he was very excited about. He even slept with it that night.

He got a couple of guitars.

And THREE yes I said THREE drum sets and we are keeping them all. One of them has been relocated to Aunt Mollie’s and the other two are staying at our house.

After the party he set them up side by side and went to town!

Lauren even got a couple of presents herself. See what I mean by awesome family!!

It was such a good day. I couldn’t have asked for a better party! Afterwards Colton played his drums all evening. He didn’t even take a break for dinner, he conned grandma into feeding him bites in between sets. And when it was time for bed he threw a full on fit and insisted in moving the drums into his bedroom and sleeping with his sticks and the microphone. The next morning when he woke up I asked him what he wanted for breakfast. His response was drummin’

What a cool party! And 3 drum sets! Lucky little boy!
So cute! Both of those cakes looks awesome and I'm sure they were super yummy!
Too cute! I love that he got drums and wouldn't take a break to eat. He certainly has grandma trained! Looks like a fun party.
