Playing Catch Up

Seems like I have been pretty busy lately and haven’t had time to sit down and write a post. Friday Brian and I met with a financial planner and talked about what we should be saving for retirement and the kids’ college. And we also discussed life insurance options too. It is funny that since I work in this industry I hear these figures on a daily basis but Brian was quite shocked by how much we need to be saving in an IRA and/or 401K to have enough money to retire on. It was also a good time to talk about what would happen if one of us or both of us should pass away. Who would we want to take care of the kids and how would we like to leave our money and other assets to them. We pretty much already had it set in our minds who would take the kids, we just need to make it official and have a will drawn up.

Friday afternoon I got the pleasure of taking a lasagna to a friend who had a baby at the end of February. So cute and it just makes me ache to hold our little boy even more! If I wasn’t pregnant it for sure would have made me spike a baby fever!!!

Speaking of fevers, Lauren has been under the weather. Poor little thing has had quite the go over the past few days with the flu. She has never been sick like this so it was a new experience for the both of us. She woke me up early on Sunday morning by puking in her bed and then on ours. It was on Brian’s side so that was a bit funny until about an hour later and she did it on my side of the bed in much more abundance than she had on his. :) Serves me right for thinking it was funny. So we spent the majority of Sunday washing and changing her clothes. Wouldn’t you know that it was my weekend to work and good thing that my mom doesn’t have a weak stomach and was ok with still watching her while I went to work. BLESS HER!! For getting the majority of the pukes out of the way before I got home. By the time I got home the puking had stopped but she was running a fever that went well on into the night and then woke up yesterday morning good to go. I was relieved that she was feeling better but I still took the day off work to let her rest at home and not infect any other kids at day care if she was still contagious. I just hope that no one else gets it now. I had it like 6 weeks ago and was so relieved that neither her or Brian got it so I hope that Brian and my mom dodge the bullet again and don’t come down with it.

Tonight I am looking forward to Mom's Night Out with a wonderful group of ladies!!

Oh poor Lauren, glad she is feeling better. Your smart to be getting your life in order and planning for the future. So many people don't ever do that. Your future will be bright because of it.

sorry the pukies visited your house. hope Lauren is feeling better!! no fun.
her puking on your bed (specifically brian's side) reminded me of my daughter yakking on the hubster's side of the bed, and down the side of the waterbed and liner. thankfully i was out of town when that happened. YUCK!
i'm happy to report that we've grown up into a big boy/big girl bed now!
have a happy day!

My name is Sonya and I am married to a wonderful man who is truly my best friend. I am the proud mommy of Lauren and our newest addition Colton! I love to cook, bake, read, scrapbook and I am a photography enthusiast. I also love to be around my large extended family. I have 4 nieces and 5 nephews.

Brian, is my wonderful loving husband. My best friend and the father of my children. He loves being a daddy, boxing, Muay Thai and working out.

Lauren is our 4 year old daughter. She loves her Daddy, running and being outside. She also is a big fan of "neighs" (horses). She amazes me everyday at all the new words that she can say and the new things she is learning. It blows my mind the things that she comes up with. She is such a great kid!

Colton, AKA, Little Man, is our newest addition to the family. He has brought us so much joy. Right now he loves to eat, sleep and is learning to walk. Colton was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 6 weeks old and has been wearing a Pavlik Harness since 7 weeks. He wore the harness full time for 8 weeks and then part time for 6 weeks for a total of 14 weeks. Having hip dysplasia hasn't slowed him down one bit. He can crawl and has recently started walking
