Lauren's First Birthday

Kelly at Kelly's" Korner Blog has started a fun idea called "Show Us Where You Live Friday" This week the theme is children's birthday parties. Not really a room in your house but that is ok! Maybe she will change the name of the carnival. So anyways I am going to show you Lauren's first birthday part. I did a cupcake theme.

This is the invite that I made myself for Lauren's party!! I found one similar that I liked online and it was kind of expensive so I got my creative thinking cap and got to work. :)

A sign that I ordered online. It matches the plates and cups. Some of them had stripes on them and the others had the cupcake that looks just like the one on the invitations.

The food table.

The Giant Cupcake that I made for Lauren's smash cake. I got a pan from Target that is in the shape of a cupcake bottom and top. You put the two together and a giant cupcake! This was a big hit. Everyone loved it.

For the "cake" for the guests I did Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes. What I did was make cake batter and then fill the ice cream cones and bake.

Lauren opening her presents. I just love her smile!! She did so good throughout her whole party with as many people as we had packed into our house.

She was so tired that she didn't want to get into her smash cake. She cried everytime that I put her down on the floor to try and do it. So I gave her one of the ice cream cone cupcakes instead.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you will check out all of the other birthday parties over at Kelly's Korner.

Giant Cupcake is too cute, I had a babe who didn't want his cake too, we coaxed him and he finally had a few bites. We've got that ball popper, but I can't keep batteries (or the balls) in it to keep it working!
Love the big banner.

That is such a great idea. That party was so cute. Love the cake and the cupcakes. You did an awesome job. If I ever have a grandchild, a girl that is, I will remember this idea. You ladies are so smart!

My name is Sonya and I am married to a wonderful man who is truly my best friend. I am the proud mommy of Lauren and our newest addition Colton! I love to cook, bake, read, scrapbook and I am a photography enthusiast. I also love to be around my large extended family. I have 4 nieces and 5 nephews.

Brian, is my wonderful loving husband. My best friend and the father of my children. He loves being a daddy, boxing, Muay Thai and working out.

Lauren is our 4 year old daughter. She loves her Daddy, running and being outside. She also is a big fan of "neighs" (horses). She amazes me everyday at all the new words that she can say and the new things she is learning. It blows my mind the things that she comes up with. She is such a great kid!

Colton, AKA, Little Man, is our newest addition to the family. He has brought us so much joy. Right now he loves to eat, sleep and is learning to walk. Colton was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 6 weeks old and has been wearing a Pavlik Harness since 7 weeks. He wore the harness full time for 8 weeks and then part time for 6 weeks for a total of 14 weeks. Having hip dysplasia hasn't slowed him down one bit. He can crawl and has recently started walking
