What I like about you
You hold me tight
That's what I like about you
What I like about you
You really know how to dance
When you go up down, jump around
Talk about about true romance
What I like about you
You keep me warm at night
Never wanna let you go
You know you make me feel alright
That's what I like about you

I heard this song on the radio the other day and it just made me feel happy and want to dance. I also had to laugh and think of Lauren because that is exactly what she would do. Anytime a fun upbeat song comes on the radio, the TV or in a store or where ever she will start doing a little dance. I love it!!! It then makes me want to start dancing which then makes Lauren look at me like I am a crazy woman. Her idea of dancing and my idea of dancing are two totally different things apparently because when she is dancing and I start dancing she stops…..looks at me and then turns around and walks away!!!!! HA HA! I am already embarrassing her.
The other morning Brian was getting ready to leave for work and Lauren had woken up. He brought her into bed with me and she was trying to get comfortable by lying all over me. First she was snuggled up in my arm like she usually sleeps and then she laid her head on my chest and that wasn’t good enough so she buried her face in my hair and then proceeded to lay her head on top of mine, but not very gently. She practically knocked me off the bed! And every time I would move her I would get this LOUD groan from her and we would repeat the entire process over again.
Saturday I dropped her off at my dad’s for my step mom to watch her while I went to work. I had her car seat sitting on the floor in the living room and she was climbing around on it. She finally settled in the correct way and I looked at her and said “hi” she tilts her head and says “HI!” It was so cute I had to stop and take a minute.
She is starting to say “MaMa” more and more each day. She has been saying “DaDa” for a while now and that was all I would hear, all the time. I have to admit that I was getting a bit jealous since the only time she would call for me was when she was cranky or tired. But last night as I was cooking dinner she came into the kitchen saying “mama mama mama” over and over. I loved it!! I picked her up and she laid her head on my shoulder said “mama mama” a bit more and patted me on the back. It was one of those moments that you live for!!
I like the way she smells when I have gotten her lotioned up after her bath. I like the way her skin feels so smooth. I like the way she laughs and finds humor in the littlest of things. I like watching her learn new things and how it cracks me up when I see her taking after my husband in some way or another. She knows where her dirty clothes go and she will put them in the hamper. I don’t necessarily like how she picks up everything off the floor and then tried to eat it but I am amazed at what she can see on the floor. The tiniest speck of dirt or paper and she can see it! That is crazy. Brian says it is because she is so close to the floor.
This is “what I like about Lauren” and the things that I want to remember about her as she grows older. I don’t want to take these years for granted as they will go by all too fast.
